THE PULAI Desaru Beach is just located next to the LOTUS DESARU Beach Resort. In fact, I had stayed for at least 3 times at the former resort during my family trip. It’s truly nice place to release your body and mind especially during public and school holidays although the building is old and currently undergoing room refurbishment.

Last month (end of January’2011) I’ve an opportunity to stayed at Hard Rock Hotel Penang for 3D2N. Surely this is not my family trip but merely to business trip as I’ve to attend Business Convention organized by my company. Of course there will be a cracking head session.

Hard Rock Hotel Penang is located along the nice and clean beach so called Batu Feringgi Beach. It’s noted that Hard Rock Hotel is sharing the building with Hard Rock Cafe.

This create much convenience to those want to see live band performance at Hard Rock Cafe. Actually both live band performance are available at both places. So, the choice is yours.

BALI has been recognized as one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. BALI have been for few years awarded as the world best island by The International Travel Magazine.

However, are still many people who do not know in depth about the uniqueness of Balinese culture. Life in Bali is always related to “Tri Hita Karana” or a tripartite concept that include the spiritual relationship between human and God, and their environment.

BALI is an Indonesian island located in the westernmost end of the Lesser Sunda Islands, lying between Java to the west and Lombok to the east. It is one of the country’s 33 provinces with the provincial capital at Denpasar towards the south of the island.

HOW TO GET TO BALI???

With the increasing number of direct flight to Bali from some other parts of the world, it makes it easier to go to Bali. From Bali, flight to Jakarta is about 1.5 hours, to Singapore and Perth (Australia) 2.5 and 3 hours, to Hong Kong about 4.5 hours, and to Sydney/Melbourne about 5.5 to 6 hours, with various airlines offering their services.

If you are from Malaysia, you may use the national low cost carrier, AirAsia at very cheaper fare. But of course, you need to book your flight ticket in advance to enjoy the cheaper fare. Please check at “airline info” for more information about flight schedules. Just make sure you look for “Denpasar (DPS)” instead of “Bali” in airline time tables. Remember that Denpasar is the capital of Bali.

Sarawak Cultural Village

The Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV) nestled at the foothills of the legendary Mount Santubong, about 40 minutes drive from Kuching. The SCV was officially opened in 1990. It was set in a tranquil setting of landscape tropical forests and a man-made lake. The village consists of authentic traditional boffuildings each displaying artifacts made by individual dwellers.

Demonstration of arts and crafts like beadworks, wood and bamboo carvings, pua weaving and straw weaving can be seen while touring Village. I can say that SCV is considered a must-visit for every local and foreign visitors to Kuching, Sarawak. In fact, I had went to SCV for one full day trip together with my office-mate somewhere in 2002 and this is considered my unforgettable experience.

The seven authentic traditional buildings are set amidst a scenic 17 acre site and are populated by members of Sarawak’s many ethnic groups, going about everyday activities. These include wood and bamboo carving, bead work, weaving, sago-making, sugar-cane crushing, pepper-growing and the preparation of bird’s nests.

Rumah Melanau (Melanau Tall House)
Rumah Orang Ulu (Orang Ulu Longhouse)
